Writing Showcase
This writing showcase is a display of the journey I went on while writing my essay. I watched many films and videos; read many articles; and reviewed and revised my essay many times. Most importantly, I found a process for writing that has structure:Â Plan, Collect, Outline, Write, Review, Revise, Proofread.
Planning and Writing
In these two photos I strived to understand the media I was consuming and hopefully connect their ideas to the course question. I think these assignments really help me be more engaged while reading. By annotating the video and movie, I have to actively read, watch, and understand the media.
These two pictures are of my analysis of Gwen and Sharp's video on Social Construction and my annotations for Thor: Ragnarok.
Peer Review
I selected the screenshot of my review for one of my peers because it shows a deep explanation of what needs work in their paragraph. I gave the section a 4/10 because it failed to give contextual background to what it was analyzing. When I looked back to my essay I was sure to incorporate the advice I gave to my peer.

I selected the screen shot of my peer's advice to me because it pointed out a lot of problems with my paragraph. I got an avergae of 7.66/10 for the sections I selected because they needed better organization and wording. Overall, I think the score was generous and the criticism was very helpful.

This assignment as a whole helped me improve my peer review skills.
The screenshot featuring Frozen and Cinderella is of my review of someone else's work. The screenshot with the large amount of text highlighted in blue is of someone else's review of my work.
Self Review
I chose these two screenshots because they displayed the areas of my text that required the most attention. I noticed that I tend to write wordy sentences or give long explanations to different things. I also noticed that I did not do my citations correctly. Overall, I think this assignment helped improve your ability to write prose that is readable, focused, and full of details.

Revision
I chose the before and after of my intro paragraph because it shows major changes. I used a lot of advice from a peer review to influence many of the changes. Overall, the wording is different and I added a source with some facts and figures. I never really considered adding facts and figures to the hook of my first paragraph because I always thought that the evidence was better saved for later paragraphs. Now, I think that is a habit that I will take into another class.
These pictures represent the before and after of my intro paragraph. The screenshot with the bullet points is the before and the one with indentation is the the after.
